There is no scriptural support for linking it to modesty that I can find.
The principal of a separation of gender roles/distinctions is found throughout the bible however.
Cross dressing is an outstanding representation of disregard for gender distinction. and that is what
Deut 22:5 seems to be addressing, most would agree.
In our culture, the most definitive symbol of femininity for women is a dress/skirt, for men, breeches.
If you want to follow this line of thought, go for it, if you don't agree wear what you want. Men, please post pics of you in your wives dresses.
