For the minute or so of totality all of the neighborhood street lights and home exterior lights that are triggered by darkness came on. It was pretty weird to see this and a neighbor whose truck lights had come on at 1:29 pm.
CC1, would you mind sharing some of the pictures you captured? thanks!

Here you go. One is of the strange shadows leaves, etc made when the eclipse was about 80%. The second shows what the sun looked like at about that point which is like a crescent moon. I was not able to get a picture of totality. it was awesome and I spent a few seconds trying to get one but couldn't and didn't want to was the minute of it not enjoying it.

EDIT: FOR SOME REASON THE FILE OF THE PIC OF THE WEIRD SHADOWS WON'T ATTACH. PERHAPS IT IS TOO BIG. I WILL TRY TO RESIZE IT LATER AND TRY AGAIN.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Who's watching the clipse?

During the 2 min total eclipse where I was,it looked like this photo does to the bare eye...
Yet my camera would not get a photo of it, (I robbed this one of the internet).

For some reason, my IPhone photos only looked like the sun usually does, a bright round orange spot.
So, I as well decided not to burn up the 2 mins trying unsuccessfully to get a photo, and just enjoyed it while it lasted.

We also saw 2 stars in the sky, quite a ways from the eclipse, because it got so dark, that was kewl too.

The pic you shared is exactly what totality looked to my naked eye also. Pretty awesome.
