Prior to becoming a Christian, I had it easy (financially). Wasn't rich but I always had the money I needed to party and supply anyone else who wanted to party with me. Within two weeks after I first repented of my sins, I was homeless with all my possessions fitting inside a brown paper grocery sack. I was homeless but living in a shelter when I got the Holy Ghost and got baptised. I fluctuated between being homeless and living in people's living rooms for about a year or so afterwards.
Since then, God has been good. I have been up, and I have been down. But when Jesus said a person who gives up lands and houses and family and such for the sake of the kingdom of God shall receive IN THIS LIFE many times more, He wasn't kidding.
