Re: Netanyahu: I will name a golan town after trum
"I just remembered something Esaias was saying and where we really had the disagreement - the Jews of today or not the same people as Biblical times. The thing is, they follow the same Hebrew Bible, and so they think that they are and so do I. "
Actually, they do NOT "follow the Hebrew Bible", they follow the Talmud. This is another area where Christians really don't understand the issues involved. Many think that Jews are just "proto Christians who haven't got past the book of Malachi yet". Truth is, Judaism is Pharisaism, literally. They follow the traditions of the elders (Mishna, Gemara, and rabbinic halacha).
Jews do not practice "the Old Testament religion".

Ah yes..the Talmud which is basically their commentary on the OT.
Remember in the OT where there wasnt a Word for a long period of time?
Some folks might have never read the Talmud...they might need some tutoring on how it differs from our beloved King James.

Talmud isn't actually "commentary on the old testament". It consists of Mishna (the Oral Law supposedly passed down by word of mouth from Moses to the Rabbis). It also has Gemara (rabbinic discussion of Mishna, Bible, and other rabbinic arguments and anecdotes, includes reams of argumentation about application of Torah both written and Oral, etc).
Halacha is the legal rulings made by rabbis based on Talmud.
Then there is the Zohar...

"The Zohar is the foundational work in the literature of Jewish mystical thought known as Kabbalah. It is a group of books including commentary on the mystical aspects of the Torah and scriptural interpretations as well as material on mysticism, mythical cosmogony, and mystical psychology." from Wikipedia
Keep in mind, "commentary on... Torah" means Torah as understood by Judaism, ie Scripture, Oral Law, Gemarah, Gematria, halachah, etc.
