I'm the people person. One day a couple followed me into the supermarket (because they just happen to be behind me) While the couple (unnoticed by me) walked behind me, everyone kept greeting me. The couple both said together "are you the mayor of Fort Lauderdale?" I replied, no, I'm a preacher. I then invited them to come sit with me and have lunch. After five hours laters we said our goodbyes. We still keep in touch.

This is a good example why I say those who think EB is unkind because of things they've read on these forums only think that because they've never met him in person.

And in case anyone is wondering, stories like this are the norm with him...and, no, he didn't ask me to say that either.
