Re: Business and the Current Crisis

Government employee here, teleworking from home. Same pay, with a lot less stress. I normally conduct onsite surveillance inspections at many of our stakeholders. Not able to do that now but we are being creative with Zoom meetings and technology to stay productive.

Reading about the telemed on here. I've had two appointments like that in the past week. One routine with my GP and the other was more urgent with my cardiologist. Thankfully I have an AliveCor 6 Line EKG device at home was was able to email him an EKG. I did have to get a Covid test last week before they'd let me go to the hospital for a cardioversion. They couldn't do that one over the phone, lol.

Our business slowed for a week or two, then sales went back to normal. No lost time for our cheese plant. Actually, it is a whey plant.

Re: Business and the Current Crisis

My dad had his routine doctor's appointment, and here is how it went down. He was told to arrive at exactly the time scheduled, to park in space A, and stay in his car. A lab worker in full gear comes to his car, takes his vitals, and blood work. He never leaves his car. He then goes home. A week later, the doctor calls him with the results. Unless something suspicious or urgent shows up, he will not see the doctor.

Re: Business and the Current Crisis

We have everyone working from home that can. Divided our warehouse into two teams and work alternating days on a two week schedule. We have been doing this since 3/23, in anticipation of "someone" on one of the teams catching the virus.
But, no one has caught it, yet.
So, what to do next...

Re: Business and the Current Crisis

Call center work mostly moved to working from home. Some lines of business have significantly less work. Some significantly more.

Any call center business that relied heavily on offshore work (India, Philippines, etc) tended to struggle as work at home options are typically very limited in those countries and they had lockdowns of their own (poor internet service outside business locations being their biggest issue).

For anyone in the U.S. locations that still has to work on site they tend to be physically spacing everyone out and have offered employees a few washable masks.
