Poor hermeneutics???
Your statement is a red herring.
Anyway, it is a Catholic mass which Protestants baptized into their religious practices. Anabaptists when distancing themselves from the Roman and Protestant churches refused to continue in the Roman practice. I find it sadly humorous, in a bleak sort of way. To watch defenders of the mass make their excuses why they continue to practice. I have family members who are Jewish, Roman and Greek churches, also atheists. My desire is not to make it up as we go along hoping that God is cool with it, or my relatives are going to give it a pass. When they ask good questions, they want even better answers.
