~~~~~I've FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHAT's MISSING~~~~~
TOLERANCE!!!!!!!
One side is saying, this place is too anti-UPC.....
One side is saying, this place is too UPC......
One side is saying, if I said that, I'd get banned......
One side is saying, they said that, they should get banned.....
One side is saying, you really aren't saying what you are because I know what you mean better than you.
One side is saying, do you have to say that so negatively.
Debate without getting your undies in a wad.
Debate with passion instead of poison.
Question with real concern.
Question without blaming.
I think what we really need is just to step back and practice Christian tolerance!
much love,
Renda
If we all practiced Christian tolerance, you wouldn't have anything to do!
Tolerance and moderation... two words that are often bantered about but less often practiced.
I completely agree.
But we can't have tolerance since that indicates "compromise".
Well, here are a few more words that tolerance indicates:
broadmindedness
forbearance
patience
charity
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
Our Pastor preached about Brotherly Love Sunday AM...man it hit a nerve! We all like the shouting stuff, but it all come to a halt without brotherly love...done, game over, forget about it. He wants us to show kindness.
Good words, Renda...kinda goes with something I posted a few days ago...
We are Apostolic...one Body of believers, yet sometimes we treat each other so common.
True, this is a discussion board, but AFF/GNC/any other Apostolic forum are not your everyday, run of the mill forums. We should be different...a place where we come for fellowship, have a laugh or two and good discussion.
To think that we won't disagree is to live in Fantasy Island, but some, and I admit to having been in that number from time to time, seem to forget that we are the family of God.
We are often so ready to expect the worst and think that someone's intent was wrong.
Why can't we expect the best and think that the intentions of the Saints is honorable?!
Good word, Renda...tolerance. It's not compromise...it's Christian!!
