Its not about who is right and who is wrong...its about respect for one anothers beliefs and conviction and interpretation of scripture.
Tell me,
Did Jesus "stoop" to their level when he went and saw what they were doing in the temple....did he just say "you bad boys...stop it you might offend someone that comes to pray"
NO SIR!
He reminded them that it was a house of prayer and got quite INDIGNANT!
And what we today would call ticked off.......
Called them an "Brood of Vipers" ....."Full of dead mans bones and All of corruption".
Jesus called it like he saw it....and I reserve the right to do the same.
Its not always "stooping and making two wrongs make a right"...its having enough of the religious nonsense and realizing that its time to chase out those that are trying to change the house of prayer into a shrine of man made junk!
And yes...that ticks me off, so excuse me while I run out the money changers!!!!

That was the Lord, Bro. Dan...I don't think any of us can or should say that we can do what He did or say what He said.
When He spoke about "greater things than this shall ye do," He wasn't meaning that I should go into my church this morning and start kicking over the pews and exposing this or that.
Ya know, I feel a spirit of "I am right and you are wrong" from certain posters ALL of the time. Does it make it right to "stoop to that level?!"
In my opinion, and for what it may be worth, no...never!!
Arrogance at any level and on either side of wrong can never be termed right, Dan...it just can't.
Who said it was your place to run out the money changers?!
Who said ridiculing and mocking WH was right?! I strongly disagreed with what he said in that thread and respectfully tried to tell him so, but what makes you think that what you did was justified?!
Can a Saint of God EVER find justification for laying someone low because we think we have a right?!
If someone doesn't respect another's views or beliefs or convictions, the guilt for lack of respect should be left to their charge...what gives anyone the right to answer in kind?!
All that does is push people's buttons and alert admin and people get banned or decide to leave in anger or disgust...it just ends up being a mess of junk between SAINTS!!
We have a wealth of words at our disposal and a zillion different ways to arrange them, Bro. Dan...surely there is a better way of expressing ourselves than what has been witnessed and not cause strife.
I'm not sure if you will receive this because I am not a minister, but I pray you do. I pray that you receive it in the spirit of grace in which it is given.

Barb,
I don't know any of us that haven't pushed some buttons or made some mistakes.
Therefore, I have no admonition to give.
I'm just reading what he's saying and knowing that he is a nice person and like us all - can get a little steamed under the collar.
It's just another day at FCF, NFCF and AFF and sometimes GNC if you dare. lol!

Absolutely, PO, and I am in that number, I'm afraid. However, that doesn't mean that there are not lessons that have been learned or are yet to be learned, or admonitions to give.
I never thought for a second that Dan was not a nice person or even inferred such...you weren't accusing me of that...just threw it in because you wrote that he's a nice person, and I agree.
What I was doing in my post was trying to make the point, albeit poorly, that as Saints speaking to Saints, getting steamed should involve a level of restraint.
I'm sure you agree...

I do agree. I guess it is just hard to come down on NYLP when we have all let out some steam, sometimes in a bad way, and will probably do it again.
It just seems like a redundant issue. I suppose I should not have thrown in my two cents because it doesn't involve me at all.
When it does, I'll probably jump into the fray - just for the sport of it. That little burr in the saddle can be an irritant.

I understand perfectly, girl, and I certainly didn't mean my post to appear to be coming down on the brother.
It's just that our words, even written words have such far reaching effects. Our responsibility to each other is something I can't seem to shake, PO...not just involving this, but in every area. Letting off steam is not excusable if I have hurt or offended you in the process.
Now, I suppose I need to get back in the kitchen...having turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes/gravy, broccolli w/cheese, green bean casserole, cole slaw, and rolls.

Rightous indignation is no excuse for boorish behaviour. I think the one incident of Jesus appearing angry and rebuking the moneychangers is far from the circumstances of which we are speaking about your posting.
Your post just shows that people can justify anything.
You and I probably share a very similar opinion of WH. My personal nickname for him cannot be posted here or I would be banned.
However as adults we learn to edit the first stream of thoughts that go through our minds into civil discourse. The words can still be strong, can still be a rebuke, but they should not be childish and insulting. Yours were.
