The real issue is in the way titles are employed in the twenty-first century church. Ministry should definitely be held in high esteem, but not revered, and even feared, in an unhealthy way. The desire to drive a wedge between those anointed to serve and the beneficiaries of that service is regrettable and, at times, perverted.
Some may read the the last paragraph as an attempt to marginalize the pulpit. Nothing could be further from the truth. I believe the bible teaches that the man of God should be an approachable gatherer of souls.
