We added a master suite and rebuilt the kitchen. I have 2,600 sq feet under roof plus a 1,300 sq foot basement and about 2,000 of living space. We've got four bedrooms, two full baths, hardwood floors, and walk in closets. We also have a detached two car garage that Jon uses as a "shop".

It's not a "big" house but it's definitely enough space for two (empty nesters), and it's now worth about triple what I paid for it 20 years ago.
Tamor, you are MY kind of people

I would love a table that compares cost of living easily from state to state etc. There are so many variables. I just realized from the income thread that I am so poor I need all the help I can get!

Good ole' Flower Mound, Texas, voted number three best place to live in US , is growing so fast we have two bunny rabbits living in our yard. Dogs can't run loose, so they're safe. Cars are bad news for wabbits. Wife saw a coyote runnig down the street, he couldn't get out of the neighborhood.

I paid $90,000 for my house 11 years ago.
The last appraisal I had done came in at $225,000.
I added a mother-in-law suite with a carport attaching it to the main dwelling 4 years ago.

Prices in rural Georgia keep going up. My property tax has increased 40% in the last two years.

Pray for me people!
