Actually, Newman, my wife is stating her honest opinion based on her experience as a woman with no dog in the fight and no animosity toward the Apostolic church. She, of course, has never been persecuted by it like you and all the other poor women have.

As one that grew up in Tampa, FL, and spent about 6 of my late teen years out of church, and on the beaches of Tampa, Clearwater, and St Pete, I can attest to the fact that most DID wear bikinis. And during the 80's the popular version was "string bikinis". Popular for the girls, as everyone seemed to wear them. Popular for the guys, because they all lusted after the girls that wore them.

But it is teenagers and/or socialites who do so; not your typical American woman.

I have been to several beaches recently, and I would suggest that that number is drastically high. I see women in shorts and a loose top... I have seen them with bikinis, but with shirts on over. etc etc. etc... many just wore shorts and a shirt... there are many women at the beach who don't wear bikinis.

What percentage go periodically? What percentage even go frequently? The number drops dramatically. Let's just throw out a number, let's say that 20% of ALL women go to the beach once per year. What percentage of those women wear bikinis? Let's take a high number, let's say about 60%. .6 x .2 = .12... that means that 12% of all women wear a bikini at least once per year. Ok, how many of all women go to the beach periodically? lets say 10%.... (just a hypothetical, if you have real numbers, let's see em). And let's say 60% of those wear bikines periodocally... Then we have .1 x .6 = .06.... that means that 6% wear a of ALL women wear a bikini more than once per year.... Now lets take an even more drastic observance. Let's find out how many women "frequent" the beach, (let's say at least twice a month). The % of all women who frequent a beach would drop drastically, say to 3%.... now let's say 99% of those women wear bikinis... .03 x .99 = .0297.... that means that about 2.7 % of all women wear a bikini at the beach frequently... THIS IS AN ENOURMOUS JUMP TO COMPARE 2.7% OF WOMEN WHO FREQUENTLY WEAR BIKINIS TO THE 99.9% OF WOMEN WHO WEAR PANTS. My point being that these are two completely irrelated subjects.... there is NO reason to try to force join the two issues.
