Thad, another factor for Evangelists is that there used to be 2 Sunday services, and a midweek. In larger towns, there was one midweek on Tuesday and one on Wednesday or Thursday.

Now there is one service on Sunday and Home Friendship Groups have destroyed midweek BIBLE study.

On top of the Pastor still paying $500 a week when it costs $400 a week for gasoline/Diesel now.

Eventually the credit cards run out and the man drops off to get a job to pay off his debt. Hopefully he is not bitter and disillusioned beyond repair.

I know of some people that travel to churches singing ..... was either $50 or $150 for 3 services ....... at a very large church in a metro area.

Had a friend on the evagelist field with 2 kids that was paid $50 and a set of commentaries for 7 nights of preaching(6 years ago)

Heard a pastor tell an evangelist He didn't need anymore of an offering because he didn't have all the bills a pastor has (electric, gas, phone, etc)
