MY OPINION.
Anytime the pastor takes a turn from the "old paths" HE opens the door.
Folks are not obligated to support false doctrine or worldliness.

Yes sir...
But, then again, right or wrong... when there is a split both sides feel this way about the other side.
So... it is a hard thing.

I can see in some UPC churches saints that have held their convictions about tv as pastors changed from time to time LEAVING when the pastor goes from silence about tv, to actively promoting tv.

Are you in the land of Fruit and Nuts? :gclock
I heard of one church where members of a neighboring church started attending after the Pastor said he was in favor of advertising on TV.

Unfortunately, yes I am. But the thing about CA, is so much gets tossed around as fact, and there is so much division, that unless you have first hand knowledge, it is absolutely much safer to pay no attention to what is said. Case in point, my father is at GC, and has been against Res. 4 from the beginning. I got a phone call this afternoon from someone who said they had it on good authority that after the vote, my dad said he was sending in his card. Well, the problem with that is that I had just got off the phone with my dad and he most certainly was not making any plans to send in his card. And then he asked me to make an appointment with his eye doctor next week. So you can see, he was just livid over the whole thing.... I'm not trying to trivialize the issue, I know that feelings are very raw, but when it comes to CA, everyone you talk to has a different version of the truth.

You misunderstood my question Old Paths,
I was referencing the Pastor's Pastor.

That's one thing I don't understand. Basically they removed a ban that has been in place only since the 1970's. That's hardly "old;" at least it's not if you're as "old" as I am.
Or am I wrong?

What exactly are the "old paths"....? are you talking about the old paths of a decade ago? two decades ago? two centuries ago? Exactly which "old paths" are you talking about? If we go back a couple centuries, things would be drastically different for YOU today wouldn't they? think AMISH.... again, which "old paths" exactly are you talking about? And what makes that subset of "old paths" more valuable than any other subset? what makes the "old paths" of 50 years ago more authoratative than the "old paths" of 100 years ago? or 10 years ago?
