I would be very careful making certain statements about what was not taught and what was taught, unless you have studied church history enough to know. According to the writings of many "Post Apostolic Fathers" they taught explicitly about abstaining from shows, and other forms of entertainment.

You are correct...I kind of thought it would be nice if he learned it for himself. More effective that way sometimes, especially with those that have revealed to us how they really feel about having a standard, howbeit accidentally. Give a liberal an 'inch' TV rez and he's frothing for a mile of anarchy.
