Trouvere, different funeral homes handle things in different ways. The FH that I work for tries very hard to keep costs down for those who can't afford a large bill. He offers the videos to everyone. I charge $100 for 40 slides/2 songs. But no pressure is ever put on anyone to purchase. IF they want them, they are available. Many people simply cannot afford them.

I interviewed for another FH in this area. At that one, he figures the cost of the video into every funeral. (meaning that he tacks on the extra $100's to the cost of the funeral). They can choose whether to get a video or not. But either way, he charges the same. So if they choose not to, he's made those extra $$'s for nothing. I am not working for this person. There was too much we disagreed on. And frankly, the man I work for is the very best funeral director I have ever seen - seriously!!

Our cost to make the first is about 22.00 then 3.50 for each additional.
I personally could NEVER justify 100.00 for 40 slides and 2 songs....

THATS why they are not selling....

Just have the funeral home work 100.00 into the cost of each casket...then he can pay you and you are guaranteed 100.00 per funeral either way.

Oh, but they ARE selling!! Like hotcakes! I did 3 just last week. That's about average lately. And almost always I will get orders for 4-7 extra copies at $15.00 each. One of them that I did last week ordered FIFTEEN extra copies, in fact. The others orders 3 and 5 each. That's not too shabby. Travis refuses to 'add in' any extra because when he does get a family that doesn't want to go the cremation route (the cheapest possible way) but can't really afford any more than the basic, that extra $100 can be a burden for them. He won't do it to them. So he offers it. If they want it, they don't think it's too much at all. If they don't want it, there's no reason for them to pay for something they don't want.

I really would like to know how you were able to post this online. Do you have to build it thru that website? Or can you just upload one you've done somewhere? Does anyone know???

And one final question: do you know a source for non-copyrighted music? I have some, but am looking for more. thanks.
