See there men in Pentecost did wear those tie clips.

Yes, they did. When I was just a youngster I visited an Apostolic church for a rally once. I wore a tie clasp because I had been taught as a child to wear a tie clasp.

After the service as everyone was shaking hands and fellowshipping, a total stranger walked up to me and rebuked (not too harshly, but rebuked) me for wear that tie clasp. Just because I otherwise looked the part, he assumed that I must have been a part of one the Apostolic youth groups. I was really just a kid looking for Christians.

What if you were a first time visitor at that church.
And that stranger wasn't even your pastor.

I was a first time visiter, though I had visited other Apostolic churches in the area. And the stranger wasn't a pastor at all.

It was just one of those times when someone's "I'm holier than thou" attitude overtook them to the detriment of some kid. Happens all the time to others. Now when it happens to me I know how to play their game.

That Religious spirit was way more proudful than a tie clasp.
