Generally the "what ifs' questions " people, really don't want answers. They want to express doubts.

Salvation is not "intuitive"
It loooks like Paul here goes back to acts 2:38 and has a "get done" moment. This passage looks like paul understood what peter preached. Do you understand this? Does it fit with luke 24:47? Then what is to question.
Act 26:28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
People that repent and submit to the LORD aren't lookin for loopholes and doing the what ifs.
