You're way off! I love the Bectons; they are friends of ours and I would be honored to have someone go work for them. Anyone who knows Pastor Ron & Cheryl would feel the same way.
Guess what? We don't despise UPC people; never have, never will!

The Bectons are indeed great people! Unfortunately, their church is on the opposite side of the Nashville metro area as where I live! It would take me 45 minutes to an hour to drive one way to their church.

That is five minutes farther than I drive to go to Christ Church. I love the church but hate the drive.
Are you saying that if you lived closer to Becton's you would go there?

But, Sherri, some have perceived that Dan Alicea does. The post was directed at Dan, not you and Eddie.

Dan doesn't despise UPC either. But he does like us (for some strange reason) and is glad that Darcie & JC will be here working with us. If they went to work for the Bectons and they were happy about it, Dan would rejoice for them, because he loves them dearly.

Sherri,
I fully understand all that you have said to be true.
In defense of Carp, Dan has so often attacked the UPC and what the majority believe, Carp was simply pointing out that if Darse and JC were going to a Water and Spirit church he might have been kind but would not have expressed himself in such glowing terms regarding their coming out of darkness into light and grace.
He DOES despise the teaching of those who are not teaching saved at repentance doctrine and eschewing any of what he sees as extra-biblical standards.
Give Carp a break.

I like Carp, but I think the remark was uncalled for. JMHO

I will agree that it was out of place. I am not sure, however, that Carp realized that Darse was Dan's sister. He may well have seen as just more of Dan's bias.
Again, give him a break.. I have seen the enemy and he is not it!

Phil,
With all due respect Carp's comments were totally uncalled as far as timing and content. On another thread, in response to a different post perhaps.
Additionally Dan may have a different belief system than some in here, but he also has expressed the desire to maintain fellowship in spite of it. While ardent and vocal in his stance he would wish only the best to any Apostolic church regardless of teaching regarding baptism. It is obvious that sentiment is not reciprocated by some.
