Okay, I get your drift, but what concerns me as to the "Cons" revulsion to resolution 4 is a big misconception. I never got the understanding that the UPC was forcing it's members to go out and buy a tv and force them to watch it! The reaction of the "Cons" is how it appears to me! My comments simply said what are they afraid of? It does sound to me like they are running from a "problem". Their solution, disaffiliation. Your thoughts?

the reason why it is a big deal is because the door that has been opened will lead to other things concerning t.v. we understand that as of now it is only allowing upc pastors to advertise..do you think that the ones that are advertisig are really ever going to preach against it(because the upc is against wathing tv.)no way.we are not afraid of this res. we just have a big conviction about it.and i personally feel if we stayed in, then we are supporting that whitch we strongly preach against.

I think that anyone who is true and consistant in their convictions are to be commended. Everyone knows that TV has been nothing but sewage piped into our homes destroying the mindset of the youth of today. even if they wont admit it. even Doctor Dobson admonishes families to consider not having a TV.

HOWEVER!! I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS!!!

1) what will conservatives do when TV is no more??? Internet and TV will merge within a few years, so, what kind of a stand will a conservative pastor make then ??

2) I have relatives who do not have a TV ...BUT! their kids download TV shows onto their IPODS!!! now what ???? now what ????????????????

i recall 25 years ago, conservatives were preaching against "monitors". now the kids today don't even know what a monitor is AND , basically , if you have a computer with a DVD player, it's really the same as having a" monitor". would anyone agree ???

I am NOT the least bit sorry for the stand I have taken against television and Hollywood video through the years, true technology has passed us and we can't make rules fast enough to keep up. However I still make a strong stand on anything that borders Hollywood type entertainment(and worse.)

Don't feel like the lone ranger Elder E, the Pharisees had the same problem.

this is true i work for the verizon home phone and internet with Fios fiber optics and trust me sooner than people think.....the internet and TV are to be combined onto the same thing where you have a wireless keyboard and the "monitor" will be the computer screen.....
