I saw that number at lunch. It said 1200+ homes and businesses had been destroyed.
Are you out of harms way for the moment?

For the moment...the fire is not heading this way....thank God for the winds. However, Santa Ana winds are unpredictable....at BEST. So, if the winds were to change, and direction of the fire change, we are ready to leave. We are on the far edge of the voluntary evacuation area. If we get a reverse 911 call stating we are under mandatory evacuation...which means the fire is heading your way....we would leave immediately.

It really is unbelievable.
We thought the last one 4 years ago was bad.....and that was 50,000 evacuees. This is 10x as worse.
Today, the winds down here are cooperating, allowing firefighters to fight from the air with helicopters and planes.
