All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
What may not be expedient to you may not be a stumbling block for another ... this one size fits all theology is so pervasive in our movement that I fear it will never disappear. Tradition upon tradition ... no room for the Holy Spirit ...
It confuses me when folks who claim to make room for the Holy Ghost in their lives have no concern for brothers and sisters, but only themselves and how many liberties they can collect.

More inability to separate fact from fiction ... if alcohol is a reason for falling don't do it ... but as long as the bible SPECIFICALLY allows it and even celebrates it ... to condemn others over consuming it is EXTRABIBLICAL.

The bible never condemns lsd, heroin, marijuana, crack, speed or any other specific drug either.
i THINK there is clear indication that stong drink (liquer) is verbotten.
am i wrong on that one?
asking all with sencerity.
Your very correct. Wine (and mostly likely beer) were probably the only alcoholic beverages back then. The hard stuff is a fairly new invention involving heavy distilling and not at all practical since it took so much work for such little output. Wine and beer resulted in a nearly 1 to 1 input/output ratio and was used for just about everything since nothing else stored properly. Not even water.
