What does "the part" exactly look like?
Would looking the part include having an expression of joy on ones face instead of a dour, sour look?
I have seen newly converted women that have cut hair yet you could see the Holy Ghost radiate from their countenance. I've seen new convert men with facial hair and yet the Holy Ghost still shines through. Are we too focused on the outward appearance as it regards fashion? Don't take me wrong, I am all for modesty and moderation in all things, and I don't think we should let our good be evil spoken of either.

Again Elder, you imply that the final product of holiness is the standard of dress. The bold in your post should echo first and foremost before the second part is emphatically proclaimed! Countless times I've seen many " Holiness " looking, standard issued, Bible wielding Christian condemn with a nasty judgemental attitude. Elder, I don't care if they look the part, what comes out of the heart and mouth speak volumes!!!

No one has justified a nasty or ugly spirit that is a strawman. You can look the part and NOT be the part but you CANNOT be the part and not look the part.

I went to a Charismatic church with my family one time. I brought my niece and nephew with me. There was a girl there that was worshipping the Lord with hands raised. After service, my niece and nephew raked the girl of her pretend worship, saying she was going too far. I told them, at least she was worshipping Jesus, they on the other hand chose to sneer and condemn. They looked the part Elder, but on the inside was far, far away. The girl may not have looked like you think she should look, but I would say that her praise was more accepted by God than My niece and nephews condemnation. So, again, what part are you trying to propagate??

All of you are the same every bobbed hair painted face pants wearing jewelry laden person is sweet and syrupy never gets angry and is NEVER critical of anyone. BALONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
There is NO excuse for being nasty or ugly. Appearance may hide that but it always comes out. But I happen to know folks who look Apostolic and are NOT nasty or mean. I do know some who look the part and are meaner than a junkyard dog. But meaness and nastiness is NOT isolated to holiness looking people. It is more noticed BECAUSE we expect MORE I guess we expect very little out of those who look like the world?

I think the big thing here is that as Apostolics we can come across as the only ones who have the truth, the only ones who really know how to worship God, etc...We need to work at not being critical of others and instilling this in our children. Our children need to know that there are others out there, while they might not hold the same standards or worship the same way, who have a sincere love for God and are seeking Him. I've seen a lot of this stuff and know just how those kids who criticized feel...we must put and end to this if we want to win people.

What about those in third world countries, poor and not possessing much. All the ladies have are pants to wear. I have been there and have seen them worshipping God with heart felt tears. Elder, are you saying that they aren't right with God cause they are wearing pants? Come on now, to say that the epitome of holiness is a prescibed form of dress constitutes ignorance on Apostolics that subscribe to that ideology!
