Wild at Heart

Wild at Heart

Product Description
Helping men rediscover their masculine heart, Wild at Heart, a guide to understanding Christian manhood and Christian men, offers a refreshing break from the chorus of voices urging men to be more responsible, reliable, dutiful ... and dead. God designed men to be dangerous, says Eldredge. Simply look at the dreams and desires written in every boy's heart: to be a hero, to be a warrior, to live a life of adventure and risk. Sadly, most men abandon those dreams and desires---aided by a Christianity that feels like nothing more than pressure to be a "nice guy." It's no wonder that many men avoid church, and those who go are often passive and bored to death. In this provocative book, Eldredge gives women a look inside the true heart of a man and gives men permission to be what God designed them to be---dangerous, passionate, alive, and free.

Has anyone read this book or listened to the CD's? I've heard it's a great book. I'd like to get it for my son and SIL to be. Any opinions?

Does this handle some of the issues we've discussed about men being too "soft" these days?

Renda,

My husband read this awhile back and really liked it. It does address the issue you asked about. It deals with what makes a man come alive. They are trinitarian, so the theology is a little messed up.

I'll read it and let you know. I personally would love a wild, dangerous, and passionate man.

Blessings, Rhoni

Oh please! They're right on everything else but their theology? Good grief.

I have used this for our men. When I read the book it really messed me up! I wept. I would HIGHLY recommend this book for any man of God.

I gave this book to one of the ministers in our church. His wife called me and asked me about the book because while he was reading it, he began to cry, put it down and told her that he didn't love her as he should. She was freaked out. I told her that it would be OK when he finished it. He did, and it was. It is very powerful.

We need more WILD men in the body of Christ. Men who will do exploits and not be the soft, mild, milk toast mannered, effeminate men who play.......well, I won't go there.

Thanks! This happened to a friend of mine that read it too. He then asked his wife to listen to the CD's with him. It's really brought them closer together.

I have never heard of this book, but it sounds like one I could stand to read.

LOL! I read that little piece and had exactly the same thought. "I could go for a man like that.."
