Sounds like a good read...
The sad thing is that our culture has been so neutered that a book like that is deemed necessary.
Where I came from, there were a lot of dysfunctions for sure, but being soft and effeminate was not among the more common ones.
The pastors I grew up around were rugged, masculine men, and there were strong men in their churches.
Oh, and by the way, our keyboard players were all girls.

We were just discussing this last week. Apparently, it's deemed problematic throughout the Christian community.

I gave Captivating to my daughter a couple years ago - might have to get it back from her and read it too.

Renda,
Get them the book (it goes in depth to reveal to men how God made them and how society has tried to remake them) and then for their anniversary give them "Every Man's Battle".. it will keep the man who is wild at heart in check and submitted to the Holy Spirit of our God!

What is "Captivating"?
I, for one, want men to stand up and take their place as men again! I don't mean them waving their fists and letting you know who is boss. That's does not make a man imo. But when men, stand up and lead. Men who aren't pushed around by women! I can't stand to see a man "ruled" by a woman...but our society has managed to turn these roles around

Sounds like it's worth reading! I will have to check it out. I could use some quality time at Barnes and Noble with a cafe mocha and a good book! Maybe I'll find it there...
