But, in context of the message, I certainly do believe in praying over your children. I did just that as my children were growing up. I would often be in prayer and then call my children to me, one by one I would then lay my hands on them praying fervently for them, sometimes followed with a prophecy. Today, all six of them are living for God as are their families too.

Heaven pays close attention to those prayers which are honored and follow them all the days into old age, unto their deaths, whether they are at last saved or not.

The power of those prayers over your children never fade or lose its power.

That is awesome!!!! Now it is time to start the process all over again with those grandbabies.....

Thanks

I wonder if we as your employer could come and inspect your children and judge you according to how they behave and have turned out. I wonder if we call your home at all hours of the day and night and disrupt the peace of your home anytime we felt the need. I wonder if we bring all our negetivity of our feelings and attitudes to you right before you must bring a "sales presentation" and expected you to be in top form. I wonder if you never had a retirement plan to count on. I wonder if you never had a medical plan worth the paper written. I wonder if people left your work because of something you did or said known or unknown. I wonder if you forgot to say hello and shake hands with a fellow co-worker and they left in a tiff high and dry. I wonder if a board member of your institution caused you so much turmoil and grief that you considered leaving your line of work altogether. I wonder if you put hours of time/study/prayer in you business and people walked out the door unmoved and unchanged. I wonder if people at your job tore your wife apart and upside down for unprovoked reasons.

I wonder............................................

Wow..now the shoe is on the other foot..YOU SOUND BITTER!!

I believe you are saying this from the side of the ministry.

I am not calling YOU bitter, really I am not. When I have expressed myself as a saint in the same manner I have been accused of being bitter. In all actuallity I was just expressing frustration..hopefully that is all you are expressing.

Yes....I am absolutely not bitter. i am not a minister but I have seen what people have done to them. I sure did not mean to come accross that way and I am sorry if it sounded so. i do come to the defence of ministry when I feel like someone is taking potshots at them. I have their back. grin

Respectfully, I see the reference to the Aaronic priesthood that we are all familiar with but I would be more interested in references to prophets, ie. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekial, Elijah??? I would be interested in learning something new. By the way, the first church I pastored was one pastored by my Father just prior to me coming there.

As a PK and fromer Ministers wife I have seen the side of the minister, just the same I have been a saint and seen that side as well. It does go both ways. Some pastors have done the very same things you have accused the saint of doing.

I just wonder how preachers in the audience felt whose sons were not in the ministry, not to mention the ones who may have had wayward kids. After talking to a few attendees I still think it was an unbiblical statement to make.

I agree that often sons follow their fathers vocationally, however, we are talking about God called position which no one can call someone into but God. If you carry this further out as far as an old testament Levitical priesthood then someone whose father is not a minister cannot be one.

Did I accuse in my statement or did I just say "I wonder?" maybe I did...I will go back and read. i didn't mean to sound accusing just responding to accusation.

Yes, and we should have the saints back as well when that happens. I know this is not a rainbow world but it would be nice if everyone was on the side of right and we all shunned the wrong....sigh..........Ok...I 'm back on earth...LOL

However it seems to me that we ALL have opinions based on past circumstances that causes either bitterness towards ministry or saints. I do know that neither are enemies. We need each other and neither could do their job without the other. We are a body but...there is exceptions to every rule. Those are the sad endings.

You didn't say but I am reading between the lines that circumstances have not been the best for you. If that is so let me say I am sorry. May healing come to you and your family in everyway.
