My mother in law doesn't fit the mold though... She was soft on her kids and is MUSH on her grandkids... I had the hardest time training my husband to behave properly.
The switch works sometimes on him. The rest of the time I put him in his crib for 34 minutes (one minute for each year)

I have never understood sending a kid to their room if they a full entertainment center in it. Wow, big punishment. I have heard of parents removing everything but the bed out of a room for older kids with behavior problems.
