Lots of the old churches had hardwood floors. I remember the old folks shouting around those pot bellied stoves and never hitting the stove or red hot stove pipes.

I can remember going to a church in NW Ga that had sawdust on the floor. No pride there! We had some great services! Sis Rosa Garland (the pastor) was a fine sister. I remember picking the shavings off my clothes and out of my hair many times. Law... pot bellied stoves. Oh, for the good ol days!

Sis. G is gone and so is that old converted chicken house. In its place is a fine brick building, padded pews and air conditioning. But the fire is gone out in that old pot bellied stove.
