Re: A Prediction About this TV advertising

Different churches and ministries meet different needs. Some people function better in a large church others in a small church. Some pastors just do not have the "whatever" to pastor large groups of people but are excellent pastors of small groups and vice versa.
Some of the camp meeting speakers in Pentecost pastor small churches…We cannot always tell the extent of a man’s ministry by the size of the congregation
Many factors are involved...

Re: A Prediction About this TV advertising

C.B. Hollis, the campaign manager of A.A. Allen (now deceased) once said to me, "Jesus Christ himself could be in town but if no one knew it, who would come out to hear him?"

I've thought about that remark many times.

prediction = foretell on the basis of observation, experience, or scientific reason.

1) have you observed this already?
2) have you experienced this already?
3) is there some reason that backs your prediction up?

Just an opinion I am sure... Perhaps in small rural areas everybody in the town, city or village knows who you are and where you are, so maybe it will not be as useful to those...

But to us in the big city... People in our city for the most part, do not know who or where we are... TV will not bring revival, God will, but the medium of TV will help the city to know about the revival God is bringing...

God has the ability to be in every home in our city at one time and He is, if people would just tune in to Him... The church does not have that ability, however since almost everyone in our city has a TV, we can get close to being in every home, through that medium, if they choose to tune us in...

Studies and statistics prove your rhetoric wrong.

He uses the same faulty reasoning when deducting all trinitarians are lost.

Steve....that happens now anyways. There are NOT masses of sinners coming into churches either based on door knocking, internet advertisements or anything else. But we do them because they are each avenues by which to get the gospel out.

You ever fish? Sometimes live bait is best...sometimes a lure....it might be a spinner....it might be a worm....it could be a crawdad....it could be a lot things....you might try over where there is cover...a submerged tree....or near some rocks...closer to shore or further deep...They are all available

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I for one would like to have the opportunity to review the studies and statistics you cite.

Could you please provide a link?

You are poking around very close to the root of the problem: Just as the church in the United States struggles with lukewarmness and hard-heartedness due to our material prosperity, so also do the sinners in the U.S. have material prosperity to drown out their heart's desperate cry for God.

The bible method for spreading the Gospel was word of mouth. Madison avenue recognizes that products can succeed or fail, and businesses can grow or shrivel, due to word of mouth.

Exactly right TR. My AOG church went on TV 15 years ago and nearly every week we receive letters of people accepting Christ. You'll be stunned how many will receive the Apostolic message through TV and be changed forever. Only Heaven will reveal the souls reached for the cause of Christ.

I know there are many against TV here, but they've never read the letters I have of inmates that had no hope until an old-time pentecostal message of truth was preached on a Sunday morning. Or letters from shut-ins that have no access to a place of of worship and receive a touch from God as the annointing touches a singer or preacher. Without a doubt, God will bless it and bring souls in to his kingdom.
