Re: Now I've heard it all

Sometimes people will tell us when they are going to miss, but most of the time, they don't. We're okay with that. Unless they're in leadership, or have a vital role in a service, we don't expect people to call and let us know if they're going to be out. If they do, that's just an added blessing, but we don't expect it.

Re: Now I've heard it all

Well, as a church secretary, there have been multiple occasions when I wished people weren't quite so specific in their reasons why they aren't going to be in church, or what was the exact reason for the prayer request.

Sometimes the best thing is just to say "I'm sick".

LOL.....for real! I have employees that will give me graphic details as to why they can't come to work - - just say your sick and stay home!!!

I'm also a nurse....so everyone thinks I don't CARE that they are GRAPHIC with the symptoms! You know, there are just some things you don't want to know about the Sunday School Superintendent! LOL

Sherri, if I lived in your area, I would for sure make your church my home.

They may not have enough bedrooms.
