Re: How Starbucks Saved My Ministry

Oh my, I have been thinking a lot lately about how Christians should not sit in a building but actually get out and become unselfish of our faith. Especially me, thanks for the reminder Deacon.

I too love these posts, I agree 100% that we need to rethink our ministry opportunities and options.

(and Starbucks does have awesome benefits, my 20 year old daughter works at one and has better insurance than I do)

Re: How Starbucks Saved My Ministry

Nothing affects ministry like knowing the hurts, pains, conflict, struggles and other grinds that peoples lives have to offer them.

Nothing makes you more effective to people than having known, touched and been a part of the struggle of said people.

We sing the song that says...

"He came from heaven to earth to show the way"

You, my brother, have followed the steps of your savior and I think it is safe to postulate that you will never been the same.

Hey Deek,

I've been thinking of starting a house church from Starbucks. Others go there and read poetry and such, why not do like you and use the place to touch people's lives.

BTW: I think I met your grandfather a few weeks ago. We shared a few tears of joy (about Preston).

That was probably Charlie in TX and that would be my father, one of the greatest men in shoe leather and I remember him sharing the story. Glad to meet you.

This is imo the post of the day! Beautiful! You have made me stop and think. I remember praying a long time ago, "Lord, don't put someone in my path, put ME in their path". I have to get out of my comfort zone...

Thank you!
