Re: One Service Sundays

We do a single service on 5th Sundays. I wish we always did it.

us too. we used to do the 5th sun service at 2 pm but that seemed to mess up the day b/c it was smack dab in the middle. now we do it at 10 and we have the whole day left to enjoy. i have mixed feelings about doing away with sun night altogether. while i thoroughly enjoy the time off, there is just something about sun nights. plus i've done it all my life, even as a baptist. what i find now is wed nights to be harder to attend due to working, etc.

Re: One Service Sundays

We do the 5th Sunday thing......only have an am service. I find myself at a loss that night!

Old habits are hard to break. I've always gone to Sunday night services, and would hate to do away with them. However, if I still had to get up and go to work on Monday morning, and had children to get ready for school, I think I might be singing a different tune, and welcome it!

Re: One Service Sundays

My church has only one service on Sunday, but pastor tries to encourage us to eat at each others houses and have home churches for the rest of Sunday. I go to pastor's house with the youth from church and there's usually a few other people from the church there (yesterday we had 18 people at pastor's house) and we had two really good studies.
When I start a church I'll probably do a Sunday night service (except for a 5th Sunday night) and then when the peole are ready/willing to facilitate home churches we'll transition to that format, like my current church does.

GOD BLESS!
Bro. Alex
