No. It's a type and shadow of the spiritual conflict we are engaged in.
We are not an earthly nation as was Israel. We are the Church, comprised of all nations and peoples and tongues.

No. War is abominable. I believe a Christian does well not to participate but rather to be an agent of peace and prayer. Again you're twisting my beliefs and motives. Ferd....you have no idea do you?
Chris, you said that carpet boming was abmonible. did you not? YOU said it in this thread Chris.
the carpet bombing was done by the Americans against the Germans.
YOU said it not me.
Once again, i get accused of Charactor assassination when what has really happened is Charactor suicide.
it was your key pad dude. not mine.

I am going to explain this to you just once. The Bible teaches we reap what we sow. The US has a history of meeting deadly force with overwhelming deadly force. JW used our bombing of Japan during WWII as an example, in his opinion, of the US going overboard in killing innocent people to win a war at all costs. Add the other things mentioned in JW's sermon and it isn't hard to see where he got the notion that 9/11 was the start of us reaping what we've sown all over the world. Hence, God is judging America, etc. etc. CH gets the connection JW is making in this sermon and is trying to get the people on this board to see that connection as well. I hope I have summed it all up for you.
Rico, don't do me any favors. Chris is doing a great job of speaking for himself.
Thanks for the attempt, but what you are saying and what he is saying isn't identical in any way.

Rico, here is a sort list of some conventional bombings that the Allied did during WW2
The most extreme examples of which were caused by Operation Gomorrah, the attack on Hamburg, (45,000 dead), attack on Kassel (10,000 dead), the attack on Darmstadt (12,500 dead), the attack on Pforzheim (21,200 dead), the attack on Swinemuende (23,000 dead) and the attack on Dresden (35,000 dead). US bombers operating in the Pacific War created the same firestorms in the readily flammable Japanese cities such as Tokyo (120,000 dead).
Thanks Ferd. I appreciate you looking that up for me. Do you happen to know how many of our servicemen died during WWII?
The point he is trying to make is that the point JW was trying to make in his sermon is that the USA isn't an innocent victim in what happened on 9/11. We have done more than our fair share of bombing other countries and killing innocent people to sit back and pretend that we haven't contributed to the hatred our enemies have for us. We operate under this notion that everyone else in the world wants to be like we are, so we make a point of trying to bring democracy and our way of life to the rest of the world, by force if need be. Get it now?
Rico. They don't get it. They will slander anyone who disagrees with them.

War is an abomination that brings judgment upon all involved. In war there isn't a good guy and a bad guy....both have to commit atrocities to win. God can use a war to judge both nations involved simultainiously as each grinds the other's children in the war machine.
Christians...we are Christians. We a not of this world...and neither should we be it's pawns on the battlefield...especially when the judgments of God are among us. We do well to pray for God's mercy and peace that we might advance the gospel....not to take up arms and defend our land. Most soldiers believe they are fighting for right regardless of what nation they serve. The average German soldier believed he was preserving his people and culture and prayed to God for life and victory. Likewise the American soldier. Imagine two Christians meeting eachother on the battle field each attempting to kill the other...each over the earthly interests of their respective earthly nations.
Not so among those who are truly yeiled to the Spirit.
Chris, Rico has taken it upon himself to be your spokesman. Do you agree with the words and opinions he's crediting to you?
