No offense, but American Idol is not the place for that. They don't want it and it is like casting your pearls before the swine. That is a wordly show and God is not in it.

How is it witnessing if you aren't singing about the Gospel? That's like saying that talking to your neighbour about football is witnessing. Nah, you might be making a friend, which could lead to later evangelism, but talking about football isn't sharing the Gospel. Not in my opinion, inny waze.
Coming from the perspective of a singer/musician, I always want to just ask, "Why?"

 I agree!
I have seen a couple of clips of the show. Something that majorly bothers me is how many of them are raising their hands and the crowd is raising their hands to these people. I just couldn't shake it when I saw it. I thought, "My God, I am sure that really bothers you," I am sure many of them grew up singing in church. You can hear it in some of their voices, and now they're using their talents for the world...........Okay okay, I'm too conservative now, but that is too much for me. They call it american idol because it is idolotry. Now matter how innocent we try to see it, it's idolotry. that's just me.

Remember last year??...Mandeza (sp?) sang "Shackles" by Mary Mary on the night they could pick a song of their choice...well Simon tore her apart and even though she had a great voice she didn't last much longer. I was very proud of her and impressed that she sang a Christian song...she was the 1st and only AI that I have ever seen do that!
On a different note, I believe Sanjaya will be around for awhile. Some of the morning talk shows were talking about Howard Stern and his radio show. Apparently he's encouraging all his listeners to vote for the worse singer in the competition!!! He's thinks it would be funny if he wins, so I guess we'll have to see what happens....I missed the other night, but I definatly was surprised that the bottom two were who they were. I thought Gina, Hayley and Sanjaya would be gone before them

I like Jordin the best so far. Blake is certainly talented in what he does.... I just hate what he does and find it annoying. Wish they'd vote off that effeminiate kid.

Are they? I can't tell? Please don't tell me Melinda is one of them. That dress she wore was beautiful, but completely inappropriate for a christian.

I don't think they are "worshipping" these people just because they raise their hands.
Do your kids play sports, okay maybe not, but say they are in the backyard and kick the football real far. Couldn't you raise your hands and say "wow honey, that was great". I doubt God would think you are worshipping your son or the football.
The show is worldly, I don't think anyone is trying to say it's a Christian show.
Know what I mean?

Melinda Dolittle didn't wear a dress Tues. night. If you are talking about the royal blue dress that was not Melinda.

That's a good point. I scream, clap, etc. when my son plays baseball.

Yeah... I just realized I said the wrong person and came back to this thread to clarify... Melinda is the short one with the short neck and adorable smile. Not that I've been watching closely, but I've not seen her dress immodestly.
I was talking about the biggest of the girls... The one who had the diamonds this week. Dont' remember the color of the dress, but it was clearly inappropriate.

oh, i understand what you mean. I just happen to see a particular episode and it jsut really bothered me. I clap for my children or others when there is a job well done. It's just while they were singing, the crowd had their hands in the air. It was just bothersome for me...
