Our pharmacists are a completely different profession than what he's referring to. Just because the root of the word may be the same the function is different.

Maybe that's what it has developed into, Gus, but that doesn't change where it came from. Now, either that scripture has relevance for us today or we can use our permanent markers and blot it out. He's trying to explore the relevance it has for us today. You guys are trying to deny there's even a connection.

Exactly, what I am saying is I could care less about the content of the argument. There is no surefire way to prove either side except by asking the author when you get up there (granted you don't take aspirin), I am just sick of him trying to detour the argument by saying he is only talking about pharmacists when it is clear he has no clue whats going on there.

To equate a sorcerer with a modern day pharmacist is not a correct one. Scripture is clear in the legitimate use of medication.

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:


  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
