It all depends on motive! Maybe it's announced to incourage other churches to give. If you do things to be seen of men, you have your reward in them seeing you. If you do things to be seen of God, you reward is stored up in heaven.

But, Jesus' edict to not "give to be seen of men" makes no allowances for motive.

It's plain and simple - "That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. "

What is the motive?

I personally believe Jesus told us our giving was to be in secret, or otherwards not drawing attention to ourselves.
