Hey, I have nothing against buying things on consignment, from an outlet or wherever. I save money wherever I can. It's a must in our household!!!! But it is silly for me to purchase cheaply made items that I will have to replace a few months later--when I could have bought quality, and my purchase would have lasted longer.

Case in point: Tennis shoes. They're a semi-annual purchase around here, for the kids. IF we buy good quality, that is. Buy a pair from Target, and they'll probably be in the trash can in 2 months.

I agree.

In fact, I don't know if it is true or not, but everytime I buy a new cpair of Runners I usually get Nike's when they are on sale.

Most pairs last me about 5 years.

I don't for the kids though, not while they are growing.

They either don't last long as they tear them up or they outgrow them.
