Well at least you're honest about it . I'm not saying that it was smart, but it was an attempt to make him look presidential. Others have used similar tactics.
I know you may find this hard to believe, but I am actually not an Obama supporter. I just got tired of hearing an extreme accusation, then examining it and seeing it was actually alarmist in nature and had very little actual value. It comes across as crying wolf and eventually people (particularly in my generation) will quit listening and that could be very detrimental.

Perhaps some things reported are alarmist in nature.

I still contend that his changing of the seal, in lieu, of his non-wearing of the American flag did him harm. It was posted on CNN and some other sites, so I think the American people take issue with it.

I just don't see a decorated war hero tampering with the Seal. Can't see McCain doing that.

Very poor choice for this young, arrogant, skinny, punky fellow. JMHO, of course.

Punky - love that word!! It sounds and fits so nicely - like a glove!

I just got off the phone with all four major regional offices of the McCain campaign. You don't need to thank me.

I just don't think that some people realize how it comes across when they make the extreme accusations and then it doesn't hold up to scrutiny. It does cause particularly younger people to not listen to any of it. And that could be bad.
It's kind of like the group that yell "racism" in every situation. Eventually nobody takes them seriously about anything.
You made a key statement earlier in jest when you said "and since I don't like him anyway". You have clearly made your mind up and this was never an issue for you no matter who the Democrat was. My point is that there are millions of people out there who are actually looking for info to make a decision. When they run into bold, extreme statements that get them alarmed, but then dig deeper and see that there was nothing to it, it will turn them off. That is what is happening with a lot of young and undecided people. I have been saying from day one that turning mole hills into mountains are detremental because nobody will be talking about the actual mountains....or when you do talk about the mountains, noone will care to listen.

Well, I am so patriotic that it offends me he would do this. I wouldn't like it no matter who was running.

I watched him being groomed for this position a very long time ago, and if anyone here remembers -- I posted that on NFCF. I have been watching him since and drew my conclusions then.

The racist thing is coming more from them than anyone, IMO.

Here we are as a country being moved by his oratory skills and he has nothing of substance and change to offer. I am amazed. Well, not really. Our Hollywood generation prepared the way for him.

Would you be calling McCain derogative names like punk if he used something similar for his campaign logo? What you seem to fail to understand is that many of the decisions regarding a campaign are made by other people beside the actual candidate.

In my opinion, calling Obama a punk is very inappropriate.

I spelled it right, didn't I?

I'm older than him, so yes, it is appropriate.

I'm not referring the the shout racism crowd in the context of this election. I just made a parallel about what happens when you have people making alarming claims that don't hold up to just simple scrutiny. You will lose credibilty to the objective viewer.

I am offended by his podium choice, tstew! A diehard American isn't going to change the breastplate on the Eagle!!!! Sorry, bad judgment. I don't care how you look at it.

PO, once again I don't believe it was smart, but it was done by his entire campaign which includes many diverse and politically savvy "diehard" Americans. However that is a far cry from claiming that he wants to change the actual Presidential seal. Once again it is the law that prevents him from using the actual seal and if he could have I'm sure he would have in his attempt to look Presidential.
