I don't believe anything out of Lakeland. This guy is a serious nut, a confessed child molestor--he was 17 and his victim was 7. If he repented then God can forgive, but when it came out years later he denied it until he was confronted with his own "confession."
Anyone should be able to judge this "revival." But you can't judge by "Miracles." God is merciful and is always willing to perform miracles. He heals by faith--if you believe in him and his miracle working power then you can receive a miracle. But that does not validate the minister or the movement. That error goes back to Branhamism. You must judge the "revival" by the word that is preached. And Bently--in my opinion--is preaching NO Word. He rarely takes a Bible to the pulpit!!

Maybe for you it isn't but at our house we don't allow OMG. I somehow doubt that the Jews were being told to refrain from using the name Jesus in vain. Whatever name people use to refer to God ought to be kept sacred. I have heard preachers say things like, "My God, son, what were you thinking." It was no different than when my Grandfather said it, it was still taking the name in vain, IMO.

I've got a different viewpoint on what "taking God's name in vain" means. I am sure that doesn't surprise you, though.

Yes
I think we have become desensitized to it -- by all those blond hair girls that run around saying it all day. Even Saturday Night Live use to make fun of them doing it.

Nose rings - nothing in scripture negative about them
Social drinking - both positive and negative
Trinity - can't seem to find it
Gambling - motive may be an issue
Taking the Lord's name in vain - made the big ten (and I ain't talking football either)

Hey, if you are comfortable with it go for it. I'm not, but don't condemn me for doing things the Bible clearly makes no mention of.
