Re: AMF Celebrates 40 Years / Letter From Chairman
OK,
I don't think I saw it here so I'll be the bad guy and pose the question.
Doesn't AMF mean "Always Mad and Fighting"?
Back in the late sixties or early seventies, I used to get a magazine from the AMF (that's what they were called back then). There were some pretty good articles in it but it always seemed to emit anger and condemnation. One UPC preacher told me, "They don't think they've had church unless they beat somebody up."
Is there any truth to the rumor that the reason for the organization's existence is because Murray Burr was not elected GS of the UPC?
And, since I've already put myself in position for attack, any body want to surmise what the UPC might have become if Murray Burr had been elected GS?
I'll duck now for the sticks, stones, bricks, mud balls, curses, and remarks that may be coming my way.

I have been away from the computer a couple of days. I only wish the AMF was what it was when it formed under the original Elders.

Actually when they started, if I remember anything correctly, it was to be just a fellowship. The churches were still allowed to be part of whatever organization they wanted to be part of and they could all still fellowship with each other. Then it got to be about if you don't believe like us. From what I hear it is worse. I was told by someone, and I quote, 'There seems to be a few that are sitting in judgement of the rest. They want EVERYONE to be exactly they are or get out. So several are getting out.' Now I will not tell you who I heard it from but I believe it because I know the family very well and they are GOOD people.

Say Elder E. if you hear Bill Adams is going to be there, let me know.
I might drive over just to see him.
I'd E-mail him, but he don't believe in internet.
