Re: Do you still believe in Corporal punishment?
My dear wife wrote a paper while at the university ... I thought it was a well written defense for corporal punishment. Basically saying while it may not be the best way to discipline, it works on a level the child can understand, and learn from.
Now, nearly 20 years and three children later I still agree.
I would say this... Discipline in ways that work and are beneficial. Corporal punishment should not be off limits, but it is not the only tool in the box, and it's use will vary according to the child and situation.

Uh NO!!!!!! Not on little children. A switch is fine, but never a paddle like in that pic. If you have to hurt a child to make them behave, you are out of control. Consistency is the key to raising well behaved kids, a lot of parents don't want to take the time to discipline a child. And then they wonder why they have little tyrants. Children need clear boundaries, or chaos will rule. A wooden spoon on the bottom seems to work well also.

I once broke a wooden spoon on my son's bottom... It was a very old one... One my mom had given me when I moved out of the house on my own...and had been around since I was a child.

Yes I do!
It is in the Bible & my sinner mom used it.
My wife feels they didn't spank me enough.

Are many Parents today afraid of their kids?? If that was
my father or mother they would have tore by butt up
no Qs asked.
I recently talked to a parent in my church and was
astounded at their liberal views of corporal punishment.
i think they might have read too many Doc. spock books??
I'm not advocating abuse or always whippin' on a kid
for anything, I'm mostly talking about Kids who have

your thoughts on this

Mark, sometimes the best thing to do is let your child know he isn't going to get his way no matter how much he rants and raves. I don't advocate letting them get away with that kind of behaviour all the time, but there are times when you need to let them get stupid until they run out of steam.

The level of foolishness in your posts seems to grow exponentially at times, Mark. When are you going to grow up? Show me one post, JUST ONE POST, where someone from AFF said that.
