Re: Nona Freeman died last Sunday? Collapsed? ...

I talked to one of Sis. Freeman's daughter's yesterday...this did not happen. A few weeks ago her legs gave out during a service, due to painful surface blood clots in the legs.

might want to check that again.... this happened one week ago today. DeRidder La. you can call the church if you like.

First Pentecostal Church DeRidder
Pastor Zale Lewis

I KNOW PERSONALLY the medical people who attended Sister Freeman.

I ate lunch today with my two sisters who were THERE. They both agreed on what happened... as told by others here.

I also know the GI speical forces guy who is a trained EMT who said "I have seen lots of dead people and she was dead."

Now, did they have a brain wave monitor on hand? well of course not. But they did have medical training and the nurses and EMT that attended her said she had no pulse and her pupils were fixed and dialated.

I know from extensive experience that without proper monitoring one cannot say conclusively that a person is dead in a short period of time. There are heart rhythms that cannot be picked up by the touch. Maybe her heart had slowed down and peripheral shutdown was evident. I'm seen many cases where the patient had no palpable heart rate and yet a monitor said that they did. Were they doing CPR?

I'm not sure on that, I believe that they did, but don't quote me on that.

The thought of doing CPR on a 91 y/o is there will be broken bones and lots of bruising.

Maybe she had PEA?

Could have. But my concern is that to pronounce someone dead one must have more info and time.

No. The heart can still beat without respirations taking place.

Ok, whatever you say. However, the daughter I talked to stays in close contact with Sandra, the daughter who cares for Sis. Freeman...I'm pretty sure Sandra would tell her Sister if their Mother was dead, even for a short period of time.
