on the othere hand if only one party wants reconcilliation and restoration, then there is none to be had, dt

True. If one party wants out...there's nothing you can do but let them go. A brother or sister isn't bound in this case.

Yes that is true, but there are also some seriously twisted people out there who will abuse and torment a partner beyond all reason, and then stand back when the abused/broken party finally leaves, and put on the act of being wounded and hurt, when actually, they got exactly what they wanted.
Whatever, I really need to stay away from this thread. It just kills me that people will take scripture that doesn't apply to them and be so hard-core on the interpretation of it, yet take other scriptures that they don't particularly care for, and minimize or explain them away...
Anyhow, I gave up caring what other people thought about me or my life quite a while ago, this subject, like every other is between me, my pastor and God.

hey sis, i understand, there is an invisible wall in the church and a silent persecution or looking down as second class citizens for divorced folks, but actually we are in the majority now as society changes, those who have not felt the ravages of divorce should pray and thank god for it, dt
