OF COURSE NOT!!!!!
Jesus wouldn't expose His nekkid toes to the lustful gaze of those around Him.
Nothing but the most expensive alligator shoes for Him.

Haha! And those see through socks that went up the knee! haha!
Seriously, without looking it up I'm pretty sure they went barefoot. Wouldn't that be a hoot at a church, to make everybody go barefoot! haha.
I was talking with a conservative 'holiness' lady recently who had heard of achurch where the pastor kicked off his sandals and taught from the platform barefoot and she was mortified!
How ironic (assuming my assumption is true).

Well, I've seen pastors in sandals at a couple of churches, and I've seen people on the worship team barefoot, and I've taught midweek Bible Study in a tee shirt, jean shorts, and sandals, but I haven't seen a bare footed preacher/pastor yet. I guess that's because I don't go to liberal churches.

Re: Letter from Bro. Chester Wright to Bro. Haney
Well, Eddie is never barefoot on the platform, but he's always just in a pair of pants and a Hawaiian shirt or a really cool untucked shirt. The only exceptions are days when we have ordinations, baby dedications or Easter - then he will wear a suit. When he's casual, the anointing of God is just as strong on him as it ever was. No one on the praise team/band is wearing a tie and guess what? The power of God moves in and we have awesome church! God doesn't care what we wear as long as it's modest. Personally I think the way our people dress is much more modest than a $1,000 suit and fancy shoes.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

If a UC UPCer did that, it would kill the move of God and the service. We all know that God only annoints those in the longs (long sleeves, long pants, long hair, long skirts, long faces...you get the point )
