I buy where the price is right. End of story. I'm not going to spend foolishly simply to keep someone in business. If the American factory worker (I have been a union steward in the past) would just do his/her job to the best of their ability and not see what they can get by with by doing as little as possible, we'd be in a much better situation.
Part of the blame resides with unions, which are hardly needed any more due to labor laws. But, those who receive their salaries from dues need to protect their jobs. I've worked union and non-union and I'll take non-union any day. Unions are needed for the deadbeat worker who wants to keep his job in spite of his/her poor performance.
You do your job well and do what you're told, you get to keep your job. You don't, you don't deserve it. It's called "personal responsibility" and a good work ethic. Unions have outlived and outspent their usefulness, IMO!
