When the UPC was formed, beards and mustaches were accepted and worn by many of the leaders. When did it change?

The bums, the hippies, the rebels, the berkeley CA tree huggers,
the anti America anti war crowd,,, that's the association that the UPC was trying to get away with.
This didn't come about until the end of the 60s

So, now that that era is over, why are beards and mustaches still frowned upon?

It's changing to a large degree for the average lay person but the
ministry is still required to be clean cut

YOu realize that the Articles of Faith have NOTHING about facial hair, either for or against.
