ILG, I still think you are part Injun! Have you ever constructed teepees?

Only for fun. And I don't have any buffalo in my freezer. Us French Canadian people look just like me.

Re: How to Save Money

At our Ladies Tea in December, we also have a Christmas Market to sell handmade items. The money goes for missions. I think I might make up some of these mixes by layering the dry ingredients in a jar and then telling them how to add the rest of the ingredients for the finished product. Thanks!

Sure! Try them first to make sure you like the outcome. Homemade is not always the same as store bought and some people don't like the end result as much. But if you like it and you think it would work for this, great!

I remember one year when my husband and I were in Home Missions. My husband was managing a convenience store. They got rid of tons of bulk candy and were going to throw it out! We bagged it all up and sold it for .50 a bag. Wow! That was a great fundraiser! We made a lot of money (I don't remember how much) but we always wished we could have repeated that! We did buy bulk candy after that and sold it but of course never made as much as that first year!

The Apostolic church that I used to go to here used to make molded chocolate Easter candies every year. They would sell them in front of the local grocery store for several Saturdays in a row and also take orders for them. They always made several thousand dollars each year with that project.

I have a chocolate mold in the shape of a sweep I would like to try sometime.

One year, the church ladies were insistent that we have a bake sale. I was against it but went along. We had plenty of baked goods but only one volunteer to help me. When we got to the store, they had someone else selling because they forgot we were coming. They apologized and we still set up a table and didn't sell hardly anything and I spent most of the time there selling alone. I said to my husband I'd rather take up a collection and people can throw in ten bucks!

Re: How to Save Money

Evaporated Milk

1 1/2 cups warm water
1 cup powdered milk
2 tablespoons butter

Mix powdered milk and warm water together. Add butter. In a small pan, heat mixture together. Beat well, cool, and store in the refrigerator.
