Re: Seven Days of Sex... Woo Hoo!! :)
I'm putting my admin hat on for this post, but staying me so everyone knows who's saying it.
Some are offended by this thread.
Some are interested in this thread.
Some of the admins are offended by this thread.
Some of the admins feel talking about this is helpful.
Just wanted to make this public so that everyone understands.
It is controversial.

I very much like what Neck is writing. It is appropriate. It is good. It is written by a man. Very, very good and appropriate. I think women might abstain from commenting on what is and is not technically appropriate. The reason for the double standard should be obvious. I haven't always done so in years gone by but I am seeing the wisdom for it.

I agree with MP when he said, "This is a discussion forum where people come to present ideas and learn other viewpoints. If it's done tastefully, it can be of great benefit, especially to people who feel uncomfortable discussing such issues with people they interact with on a daily basis."
I believe the subject is being broached in that manner. I don't have a problem with it.

It's been a bit "borderline" at times, but I think overall, most of the posters here have been careful to be circumspect tasteful, and respectful, in dealing with the topic(s) at hand.
And of course, those who are offended can simply choose not to look.
So far, there have been no verified instances of anyone being forced at gunpoint to look at any of the threads here on AFF.

Well, that would just be too legalistic!

Thanks TRF!
I know it's very uncomfortable for some. I also know that I was raised pretty naive and would have profited from having tasteful discussions.

I believe I shared on another thread how naive I was when I was in Bible College. The girls who worked in medical records gave me education through pictures and what they were told. I was engaged and asked my mother if we should have "that discussion", and she said, "Don't worry, it comes naturally". I didn't believe her then and still don't!

I find that kind of response to be be unfortunate, to say the least.
Newlyweds shouldn't be walking into a marriage situation totally clueless on that topic, like a baby deer in the forest.
Every father should have "that discussion" with his son, and every mother should have "that discussion" with her daughter.
If the parents are too "scared" to do it, then I guess it's left up to a pastor or pre-marital counselor to at least break the ice on that topic. But it really should be a parent's responsibility.
