Some of you like blanket, tidy consistency and are afraid to approach issues one-by-one. A glutton, one who is given to vicious appetities and overeating, is surely in sin. I think they are BOTH sinning. There!

This is the most insidious kind of legalism--the kind that wants to turn the New Testament into just another rule book, sort of a kinder, gentler, more permissive version of the law.
And if we can't find a specific Scripture forbidding it, it is fair game.

I don't have a clue, Jeanie. Once again, never said I KNEW. "MAYBE" implies a theory, a guess. We believe in teaching. I've also seen many people take care of things all on their own, without a person telling them. Just last service we had a young man do something all on his own. Teaching is crucial. The Spirit does a whole lot of teaching too.

"let the Spiritual judge"
Brother, you can use your code words all day "legalism", "Pharisee" (others use), "rules", but I'm just telling you that you're wrong. It's not a rule book to make spiritual decisions on issues. It's responsibility.

Bro, I agree with you.
I am describing the mindset of the Pharisee hunters here--that is how they view the Scripture.

Nicotine Dependence 305.1 Is a diagnosed mental illness. Enough said!
