Thank the Lord for small favors.

We have too few cowboys left in this world.

If you've ever seen "Monte Walsh" - that would be my Dad! So much of his life - the true cowboy - gone! He was so sad to see it go.

You know... of the few things that escape Rush Limbaugh's mouth that I still agree with ( )...

I remember him saying years ago that he believes the generations balance each other.

One generation will be very conservative, or nature based, or religious... whatever part of society you want to choose. The next generation will tend to swing in another extreme.

But then the next generation or so you see another swing back in the old direction and the pendulum continues...

I think we will see a swing back to people loving to work the land... I think we are already seeing it.

We are at my house...

I guess that is true. I was thinking about the economic situation in this country and kind of glad we are going to have to slow down and get our priorities straight!

I can see that happening already in a lot of people.

Not all blessings come through comfort.

That's true! We have plenty of room on our vacant lot to plant a garden if we need to. My husband would love that. I don't like the weeding part, but I'm game if we have to.

Doesn't that old Gospel song say:

"Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys"

Re: What's on your desk?

OK, I just finished reading this thread and I am once again amazed. We managed to get from what is on our desk to menopause in 13 pages!! You just can't make stuff like that up!!

I am looking around at my desk and thanking God that none of you can see it. It looks like I am psychotic, like a small tornado settled here briefly.

I have piles of papers I am sorting to file, the church deposit that I need to make, the church loan deposit for another bank, a large mug of café mocha, a large Sonic cup of ice tea, my left-over beans and enchiladas that I am eating for lunch, piles of papers I am sorting before I finish moving into my new office, a stack of church dvds that I am watching for a attendance survey, my attendance chart, hand sanitizer and lotion, Kleenex, some picture frames, and I don't know what the rest of this stuff is. Oh, and my computer, the church phone, my church keys and my cell phone.

It's PO's fault. She hijacks everyone's threads......... I would have thought she didn't like me if she hadn't hijacked this one too.
